Day Trip 5 & 6: Bicester Village & Cheshire Oaks, UK

Let me start this post with an interesting photo, shot nearby the shopping haven of Bicester Village. It's a Tesco petrol station! Something you don't see everyday. Fuel stations in the UK have different fuel rate, but only differ with each other by a very small margin. There are also apps to locate the cheapest rate of fuel available nearby you, so that you can plan your remaining distance that you can travel with your remaining fuel to go for the station with the cheapest fuel rate.

Back to Bicester Village, 3 hours away from Sheffield (we were quite used to the great amount of time spent on a bus by this trip already). This designer outlet is located just an hour away from London, and I would say our very own Johor Premium Outlet (JPO) is inspired by this kind of designer outlet. In Bicester Village, you can find lots and lots of high-end brands, but somehow the price of the goods here are cheaper than the same goods in Malaysia. To us, it might still be an expensive place to do our shopping at, but to British people it isn't.

Before we got off our bus, our tour guide handed each of us a 10% rebate card to entice everyone to buy more! You can find almost every premium brand which you can think of here, be it Fred Perry, Prada, Armani, Burberry, Coach, Dolce & Gabbana etc. Malaysia's Jimmy Choo outlet also made it here, proud of him!
A queue is a must in order to enter the Prada outlet!

Even the Starbucks shop is different here! High class and opulent! Starbucks is actually the most affordable place to have a meal in Bicester Village!

This plush purse from Coach is so... plush. No other words to describe it. I love its texture and materials used. Unfortunately it costed 100 Pounds, or else I'll get one for my mom. I saw a side hanging bag for guys too, but its price was a whooping 200 Pounds plus! It was love at first sight, but unfortunately...

In the end I went for this DKNY purse for my mom and grandma, one red and one beige. Each costed slightly lesser than 40 Pounds, still consider expensive to me but it's the best stuff I can afford with a tight budget. I didn't even get something for myself, sometimes branded stuff are so overrated.

This bracelet from Bottega Veneta costs 105 Pounds for God sake! How can someone (a friend of mine) on Earth (with Malaysia's currency) say this is cheap??? This small bracelet can help me to pay my convocation fee with 3 Pounds to spare!

My friends' damage of the day! Ranging from Superdry, Coach to Prada. Honestly the stuff here are cheaper than the selling price in Malaysia, but this is a little... exaggerated. Every purchase above 30 Pounds (varies with outlet) is entitled to get Value Added Tax (VAT) rebate of 14% of the selling price, this is because every good sold in the UK has included VAT of 20%. Then, the 14% rebate can be redeemed in the form of crediting into our credit card at the custom when we leave the country.

Let's move on to Cheshire Oaks, shall we? As you can see, Cheshire Oaks is not as grand as Bicester Village, an apparent sign when you take a look at the brands available in Cheshire Oaks. They are still branded items, but not as luxurious. Something like Bicester Village is a Rolls Royce while Cheshire Oaks is a Volvo. *The car enthusiast in me talking*

Some beautiful deco...

An American-styled dining place like those we normally see in American drama!

There was a Lindt chocolate shop which was having a promotion for all chocolates! Just 1.05 Pound per bar if more than 5 bars are purchased together. This makes a great souvenir for friends or relatives. Just recently I saw Lindt's chocolate in Malaysia's Aeon Big where a similar bar costs RM18. Get the white chocolate (and avoid the 99% cocoa, unless you are a fan of dark chocolate) flavour!

NEXT - London, Part 1!
